Daniel G. Wilson, Sr.

Daniel G. Wilson, Sr., 70, of Westfield, passed away Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.  He was born October 1, 1950, in Summerville, NJ, the son of the late George W. and Dorothy L. (Schenck) Wilson.  On February 23, 1974 he married the former Karen A. Keaveney and they shared 45 years of marriage together until her passing on March 1, 2019.

Dan was a graduate of Piscataway High School, NJ and owned and operated his own body shop for many years.  He retired from Erie Insurance where he served as an Insurance Adjustor for 15 years.  He was an E.M.T for Sabinsville Ambulance Association, Clymer Volunteer Fire Company, Middlebury Ambulance Association, Chatham Township Volunteer Fire Department and for U.P.M.C.   He also served as an E.M.T. for Arena Training Group, a Pennsylvania strike force established after 9/11.  Dan was also well known in the area as a coach for many different sports and was an upcoming inductee into the Tioga County Athletic Hall of Fame.

Left to cherish his memory are sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel G., Jr. & Allison Wilson, of Danville, and Kevin J. & Charrisse Wilson, of Knoxville; daughter, Jessica M. Kachur, of Knoxville; grandchildren, Stevie, Brady, Breece, Brynn, Zeraya, Zander and Zayanah; siblings, Lucinda and Chris Wilford of Piscataway, NJ; Deborah and Chuck Moore of West Virginia; Michael and Lisa Wilson of Little Marsh; Diana and Don Kirschman of Harrisburg; Steven and Avery Wilson of Ft. Leonard, MO; a sister-in-law, Eileen Gomez of Toms River, NJ; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents and wife, Dan was preceded in death by an uncle, Thomas Schenck.

Family and friend are invited to pay their respects on Saturday, May 22, 2021, from 6 – 8 p.m., at Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home, 139 Main Street, Wellsboro.   COVID health guidelines will apply.  In keeping with Dan’s wishes, a private memorial service will be held with his immediate family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Dan’s name to either the Chatham Township Volunteer Fire Department, 1575 Blair Creek Rd., Westfield, PA 16950, or the Janet Weis Children’s Hospital, 100 N. Academy Ave., Danville, PA 17822.
