Brenda Kay Owlett

Brenda K. Owlett, passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2017, after a brief illness, in the Hartford Hospital, Hartford, CT, surrounded by her family. She was born May 26, 1952 in Keeneyville, PA, the daughter of Keith and Patricia (Griffin) Owlett.
After graduation from Wellsboro High School in 1970, Brenda attended school in Hartford CT, where she settled. Although she had a successful career in the insurance industry, her focus was always friends and family. Brenda inherited her father’s ability to make lifelong friends and she had many.
She lived most of her adult life away, but the Wellsboro area was always home. On her many return visits, the Owlett household would ring with the excited cheer, “Aunt Brenda’s home”, from her nieces and nephews as they ran to greet her.
Brenda loved photography and her most treasured possessions were the many photos of family and friends. She rotated the pictures on her desk at work from a large collection that she kept there. Collecting, restoring and reprinting old family pictures was also a passion. She distributed copies to many relatives.
Brenda was a caring person who lived her life with strength of character and a positive attitude. Trusted advisor to some, friend to many, and loved by all, she will be missed.
In addition to her mother, Patricia, Brenda is survived by her longtime companion, Lou Ollari of Portland CT; brothers, Walt Owlett (Nancy) and Kyle Owlett (Michelle), all of Middlebury Center, PA; nieces, Brandi and Emma Owlett; nephews, Cody Owlett (Jess Parran), Gilbert Owlett (Julie Sampson) and Russell Owlett (Ashley Palmer); seven grandnieces and grandnephews. Brenda was preceded in death by her father Keith Owlett, in 1990.
Friends and family are invited to Brenda’s Life Celebration on Thursday, August 3, 2017 from 1-3 PM at Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home, 139 Main St. Wellsboro, PA. Funeral service to follow at 3:00 PM with Pastor Curt Owlett officiating. Burial will be in Middlebury Union Cemetery.
