Betty Jane Faivre

Betty Jane Faivre, 84, of Wellsboro, died on Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at UPMC-Wellsboro.

Jane was born November 27, 1936, in Gaines, the daughter of the late Lawrence M. and Naomi (Sobers) Prouty.  She married Frederick W. Faivre on July 4, 1957 and celebrated 58 years of marriage until his passing on November 5, 2015.

Jane was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and enjoyed her time with her family more than anything.  She also enjoyed gardening, camping, reading, puzzles and her dogs.

Jane is survived by two daughters, Allyson Hawk of Troy; Diane (Michael) McChesney of Gaines; a son -in-law, Robert Hawk of Wellsboro; a brother, Thomas (Diane) Prouty of Ulysses; a sister, Kathleen (Ralph) Hastings of Galeton; grandchildren, Brandon (Tina) McChesney, Myles Hawk and Clarissa Hawk, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Jane was preceded in death by a sister, Priscilla Prouty.

At Jane’s wishes there will be no public visitation or services.
