Bertha Mae (Steele) Greenwalt

Bertha Mae Greenwalt, 86, of Lawrenceville, entered into rest on Friday, January 27, 2017.
She was born on October 12, 1930, in Millerton, a daughter of the late Martin and Lulu (Congdon) Steele. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister Mildred Kerrick, her brother, James Steele and her two beloved sons, Kenneth Greenwalt in 2006 and Kevin Greenwalt in 2004.
Bertha is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, C. Lee Greenwalt; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Don Kriner, of Lawrenceville, Karen and Scott Keck of Wellsboro; a sister-in-law, Tuy Steele of Arizona; eight grandchildren, Shawn, Steven, Sabrina, Seth, Sterling, Alyssa, Courtney, McKenna; six great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; a nephew and several nieces.
She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She worked diligently beside her husband on their dairy farm. She always made family and friends her first priority. Bertha was an outstanding cook and baker, and no one ever left her kitchen hungry.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate Bertha’s life on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 from 2-4 PM at Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home, 139 Main St., Wellsboro. Funeral service will immediately follow with Thad Compton speaking on behalf of the family. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Tioga.
