Bernice R. Kerr

Bernice R. Kerr, 103, formerly of Wellsboro, passed away Saturday July 16, 2022 at her residence in Westfield.  She was born June 23, 1919 in Chatham Twp., the daughter of the late Gordon and Anna (Hurlbert) Lattimer.  On July 21, 1939, she married Ivan L. Kerr who preceded her in death on August 13, 1999.

Bernice graduated from Mansfield State Teachers College with a Teaching Certificate.  She owned and operated a family farm with her husband and drove school bus.  Bernice and her husband had taken in many farm vacationers on their farm which they called Kerr-Vale Lodge.  Bernice was also active with the Stony Fork Grange and various farming organizations including 4-H and Future Farmers of America.

Bernice is survived by six grandchildren; David Copley of Bedford; Susan (Daniel) Berguson of Blossburg; Lauri (Mary) Kerr of Williamsport; Elizabeth Kerr of Middlebury Center; Christopher (Amanda) Kerr of Tioga; and Michael (Cecilia) Kerr of Texas; 13 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, children; Bonnie Gee, Ivan Kerr, Jr., and Thomas Kerr, sisters, Lucille Hollenbaugh and Mary McLean and a great grandson.

The family suggest in lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Bernice’s name be made to Tioga County 4-H, Courthouse Annex, 118 Main St., Wellsboro, PA 16901
