Knoxville

Ann Alvira Cass Rumberger, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away

peacefully at home on October 11, 2025, at the age of 83

Born on January 16, 1942, in Osceola, Pennsylvania, Ann lived a life marked by grace, strength, and unwavering love for her family and community.

She was the devoted wife of Richard Walter Rumberger, with whom she shared a lifetime of cherished memories and an enduring partnership of work and love on the farm.

Ann was a nurturing and proud mother to Penny Rumberger of Westfield, PA, and Cara and

Wendell VanNess of Knoxville. She was also a loving grandmother to Garrett and Dylan

Cleveland, who brought her immense joy and pride.

Known for her gentle spirit, warm hospitality, and steadfast faith, Ann touched the lives of many through her work on the farm, her church involvement, and her genuine love for all of her special friends. She adored her grandchildren and loved being involved in all of their activities. Ann enjoyed anything as long as it was done with family and friends. She spent many years at her aunt and uncle's farm and then on her own farm raising her family. Ann made friends easily and gave from her heart to all.

Musically inclined from a young age, Ann never quit playing the piano and singing in the choir.

There was never a dull moment with Ann around. She hosted many family dinners at her home and always cooked for all the hunters in her life. Ann brought kindness and grace to every moment- even in the end, she had a smile to give to all who came to see her.

She is survived by her sister-in-law Charlene Cass, Kathy and Dan Deely and family; Brian and Desta Brown and family, Mark and Lori Cass and family; Vickie and Kevin Kilgus and family, Cherrie Soper and Art Miller and family, Ron and Debbie Chapel and family and many other beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was pre-deceased by her parents, and two brothers: Richard Cass and Burton Cass.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at Keeneyville Church, with
