Andrew Lee Deming, 89 of Blossburg passed peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on November 11, 2025. He was born in Coudersport on 11/24/1935 to Elizabeth Hewitt Campbell and Howard Deming. Andy grew up in Tioga, being mainly raised by his paternal grandparents along with his brother John. He had the best childhood memories from fishing at their camp in Letonia to driving across country to Arizona. Andy and John were adventurous boys and quite a handful but Gramma Kate and Grampa Ernie Deming were up for the challenge.
Andy had a God-given artistic talent as well as being a contractor, building all his family's homes and many for others as well.
Upon graduating from Williamson High School he joined the Air Force where he worked as Military Police, stationed in (RAF) West Drayton, England.
After proudly serving his country he moved to Tucson, AZ and joined the police force. Eventually, he moved back home to Blossburg where he worked as the Chief of Police. He was later employed as a superintendent for Mele Construction out of Dunmore, Pa.
Andy lived to travel and create new life experiences and found himself never fully retiring; he babysat ranches and built out buildings and tended to horses from Wyoming, Idaho to Montana and parts in between. He was outgoing, loved to tell jokes and play practical jokes. Everyone on this earth somewhere has a story about Andy Deming. He loved his family and friends, who were like family, deeply. He had many friends because he knew how to be a friend. He went on many adventures in his long life with too many folks to name.
In his later years he made the most important decision and prayed the sinner's prayer (Romans 10: 9-10) and asked Christ into his heart. He enjoyed attending Sunday School and looked forward to meeting everyone for fellowship and snacks.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, John, the mother of his children, Karen Lindquist Deming and a daughter, Lee Anne Deming.
Left to honor his memory are his son: Brett (Lori) Deming; his daughter: Kelly (David) Dewberry; his half-brother: Howard (Nancy) Deming; grandchildren: Ellen Samber, Brandon Deming, Nicholas Deming, Lindsey Deming, Stevie Gregory, and Grayson Dewberry; several great grandchildren and nephews and nieces. A special shout out to the friends at the Green Home and to the amazing hospice team, you all are so amazing and are so much appreciated.
Internment will be made at the Arbon cemetery in Blossburg, PA. Friends and family are invited to pay tribute to Andy's life from 11am-12:30pm Saturday November 15, 2025 at Marsh Creek Fellowship Baptist Church with his memorial service to follow in the church with Pastor Keith Williams officiating.
