Almeda E. Stoltzfus, 93, of Morris, passed away at her home on Thursday September 5, 2024. She was born July 23, 1931, in Pottstown, the daughter of the late Irvin J. and Cora (Shank) King. Almeda married Stephen M. Stoltzfus in March of 1952 and celebrated 53 years of marriage until his passing February of 2006.
Almeda was a member of the Stony Fork Mennonite Church. Almeda and her husband were missionaries in Paraguay, South America, for 36 years.
Almeda is survived by children: Laurel E. (Eustaciano) Britez of Morris; Daniel M. (Joy) Stoltzfus of Morris; Nicolas Ray (Ruth) Stoltzfus of Manheim; Violet M. (Kevin) Moyer of Telford; Lily R. (Harlan) Zimmerman of Wellsboro; Jesse W. (Julia) Stoltzfus of Glenwood City; 35 grandchildren, 91 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, Almeda was preceded in death by a daughter, Elaine Stoltzfus, brothers: Tillman, Myron, and Aaron, sisters: Leona, Evelyn, Cora, Clara, and Laura, 3 grandchildren and a great grandchild.
Friends and family are invited to call from 2:00pm-6:00pm Sunday, September 8, 2024, at Stony Fork Mennonite Church, 47 Stony Fork School Rd., Wellsboro. A funeral service will be held 10:00am Monday September 9, 2024, at the church, with Mark Halteman, Daniel Baltozer, and Harold Good, officiating. Burial will follow in the Horn Cemetery.
