Michael W. Robbins

Michael W. Robbins was born Nov. 8, 1955 in Olean, N.Y., to Mason and Arlene (nee Post) Robbins. He passed away peacefully Nov. 21, 2017, at his home in Arlington Heights, Ill.
After two decades of a lustrous business career, Michael dedicated his talents in the service of others by volunteering for numerous organizations in the greater Chicago area:
Michael was one of the formation members of St. James PADS (Public Action to Deliver Shelter) serving homeless adults and families in cooperation with 18 churches in the area. Michael was the President of the Scleroderma Foundation, Greater Chicago Chapter.  Michael was involved with SALUTE, INC. whose mission is to honor the service and remember the sacrifice of our military personnel. He was a fundraiser for The Sisters of the Living Word.
Michael is survived by his brothers, Stephen (Donna) Robbins and Robert (Jayne Ann) Robbins; his nieces and nephews Chris, Matthew, Meredith, Bob and Jill; his great nieces and nephews; his dear friend Mary Wacker and by his mother and her husband.
Michael is preceded in death by his wife Annette (nee Martin) Robbins and by his father.
Memorial visitation was Thursday, Nov. 30, from 3 until 8 p.m. at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights, Ill. Prayers are 10:15 a.m., Friday, Dec. 1, at Glueckert Funeral Home to St. James Catholic Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, Ill. for Mass at 11 a.m.
A second memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 19, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 38 Central Avenue, Wellsboro.
Michael will be laid to rest in a private interment service in Wellsboro.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Scleroderma Foundation, Greater Chicago Chapter, 125 S. Clark, 17th Floor, Chicago, IL 60603 or St. James PADS., 820 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, IL 60004.
