Mary E (Badman) McConnell

Mary E.  (Badman) McConnell, 95, of Mansfield, passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at her son's home surrounded by her family. She was born August 26, 1921, in Charleston Twp., the daughter of the late Oliver J. and Edna (Wilson) Badman. She married Robert W. McConnell, Sr. on August 24, 1939.  He preceded her in death, November 8, 2008.

Mary was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Wellsboro. She had been active in her church, serving on the member care & outreach committees, as well as the board of session. Mary was a member of the Pomona Grange #30 Wellsboro, member and secretary of the former Charleston Union Grange#1017 and a member of the State Grange.  She was an accomplished and avid cook, renowned for her pie making, especially her raisin pie.

Mary is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Barbara McConnell of Mansfield; her daughter and son-in-law, Melanie and John Wagner of Middlebury Center; three grandchildren, Teressa (Douglas) Sivers of Oneonta, NY, Jennifer (Samir) Nawri of Mansfield and Lori Wagner of Wellsboro; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by her sister, Pauline Bianco and her daughter, Gloria McConnell.

Mary’s Life Celebration will be held from 11 AM to 1 PM, Thursday, June 1, 2017, at Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home, Ltd. 139 Main St., Wellsboro, PA, funeral service to follow with Rev. Michael Birbeck officiating.
