Linda Kay Cleveland Sheaffer, 74, died early Tuesday morning surrounded by family at her home in Wellsboro. A life-long resident of Wellsboro, Linda was born April 2, 1943 in Wellsboro, the daughter of the late Chester and Isa (Clark) Bartholomew. She graduated from Wellsboro High School in 1962, and then in 1982 from the Empire Beauty School in Williamsport. Afterwards she operated Linda Sheaffer’s Styling Salon in her home.
Linda was a member of the Niles Valley United Methodist Church, was a member of the United Methodist Women, and had served as the secretary and treasurer in her church. She enjoyed camping and line dancing, and had been a member of the Wellsboro Moose, Arnot Rod and Gun Club and the VFW Ladies’ Aux. Linda loved pictures and was an avid scrapbooker, and she loved her cat Hobo.
She is survived by two sons: Tim Cleveland (Lori) of Wellsboro, and Jim Cleveland (Stephanie) of Houston, TX; six grandchildren: Darcy Cleveland Raymond (Kenny) of Wellsboro, Jodi Cleveland Otbot (Genel) of Wellsboro, Jimmy Cleveland II (Laura) of Utah, Kristin Cleveland of Utah, Trinity Cleveland of Colorado, and Hope Cleveland of Colorado; 8 great-grandchildren, one sister: Laura Patterson of Blossburg; a very close niece Robin Corse and her daughter Bailey Corse of Wellsboro. Linda is also survived by Kenny Cleveland her long-time companion and the family they shared: Beth Alexander (Bernard), Kenneth Charles Cleveland (Shiela), Annette Johnson (Kevin), and Amber Roberts (David), along with Kenny’s 3 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Linda is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Vernon; one great-grandson Nicholas Taylor Raymond; four brothers: Carl, Dale, Kirk and Bruce Bartholomew; and three sisters: Virginia Woodard, Veta Bronson, and Nadine English.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate the life of Linda Sheaffer from 6-8pm Thursday March 1, 2018 at the Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home 139 Main Street Wellsboro, PA 16901 and to her funeral 11am Friday March 2, 2018 in the funeral home, with Pastor Kristi Webster officiating.
