December 9, 1965 ~ April 1, 2017 (age 51) 51 Years Old


On April 1, 2017, Eric Swendrowski, 51, of Oregon Hill, passed away at the Williamsport Regional Hospital.

On January 18, 2000, Eric married his longtime sweetheart of 13 years, Karon Jackson.  Eric was born December 9, 1965 in Toms River NJ, the son of Alfred and Helga (Rankl) Swendrowski.

Eric was the owner and operator of Oregon Hill Winery. He started his business when he was 18 years old, becoming the youngest licensed winemaker in the United States.  He was a member of the Pennsylvania Wine Association. He was always there with a smile on his face and took the time to engage in conversation with his patrons. Eric will be greatly missed.

 He was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Wellsboro. Eric graduated from Wellsboro High School with the Class of 1983. He served 8 years, as an auditor for Pine Township. Eric was the past president of the Keystone Region, Porsche Club of America and an avid car enthusiast.  Eric was a member of Wellsboro Chamber of Commerce as well as the Lycoming County Chamber of Commerce.  The Swendrowskis were supporters of the Deane Center as well as Hamilton Gibson.

Eric was involved in many aspects of life; however, his family was everything to him. 

Surviving are his wife, Karon; his mother, Helga; his two daughters, Katarina and Alexandra Swendrowski; brother, Victor Swendrowski and his sister, Jennifer (Swendrowski) Studenny; his in-laws, Ronald and Janet Jackson and his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Robin and Charles Stringham.  He was preceded in death by his father and mentor Alfred Swendrowski.

Eric’s Life Celebration will be held, Thursday, April 6, 2017 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home, Ltd., 139 Main St., Wellsboro, PA.  A memorial Mass will be held Friday, April 7, 2017 at 9:30 AM, St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 47 Central Ave., Wellsboro, PA with Rev. David Bechtel officiating. Interment will be in Oregon Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to any branch of C&N Bank for his daughters’ education funds.
