Edward R. Banker, 84, a lifelong resident of Wellsboro, passed away Monday, June 26, 2017 at his camp. He was the husband of Katherine Lucille Wilson, whom he married on March 11, 1955. Edward was born November 25, 1932 in Wellsboro, the son of the late Wayne and Laura (Webster) Banker.
Edward served in the U.S. Army from 1955-1957, during the Korean War. He was a member of the NRA. In addition, he was a member of Whispering Pine Camp and the North American Hunting Club. Edward was a former employee of Corning Glass Works retiring after 45 years of service.
Edward is survived by his wife, Katherine Lucille; brother, Vernon, of Columbus, OH; four grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Karen A. Lundy; brother, Robert Banker.
Memorial contributions may be made in Edward’s name to the NRA.
In keeping with Ed’s wishes a memorial graveside service will be held Friday, June 30, 2017, 11:00 AM at Tioga County Memorial Gardens.
