Rev. Donald Stout Miller, 75, of Wellsboro, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 1, 2018, at his residence. He was the husband of Elizabeth “Betty” (Freiberger) Miller and they shared 52 years of marriage together. He was born November 12, 1942 in Trenton, NJ, the son of the late George D., Sr. and Elouise (Green) Miller.
Don’s greatest passion was serving in the Lord’s ministry as an ordained minister, having served at multiple churches including the Straits Baptist Church in Candor, NY and Van Etten Methodist Church in Van Etten, NY. Most recently, he was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wellsboro. He received degrees from Barrington College and Elmira College. Don was employed as a science teacher with the Spencer Van Etten Jr.-Sr. High School until his retirement in 1996. After his retirement, he became a valued part-time associate with Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home, Ltd., Wellsboro. He was also a veteran, having served in the United States Marine Corps from 1960 until 1963. Don’s wisdom of scripture and great conversations will be sorely missed by family and friends.
Don is survived by his wife, Betty; sons and daughters-in-law, Corwin W. & Christie Miller of Cypress, TX, Daniel C. & Shelle Miller of Fairmont, WV; grandchildren, Tyler, Derek and Hannah; brother, Wilbur G. Miller of Allentown, NJ; sisters-in-law, Eleanor Burns of Babylon, NY, Maryanna (David) Keller of Skippack, PA, Hilda (David) Carter of Seminole, FL; brother-in-law, Bob (Kathy) Freiberger of Allentown, NJ; several nieces & nephews; and many dear friends.
In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by two brothers, George and Corwin Miller.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Thursday, November 8, 2018, from 6-8 p.m. at Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home, Ltd., 139 Main Street, Wellsboro. There will be an additional calling hour the next day, Friday, November 9, 2018, from 10-11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Wellsboro, 25 Central Ave., Wellsboro, with Don’s memorial service and military honors immediately following at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Jeffrey McCleary and Rev. Drew Simcox will officiate services and interment will take place in the Wellsboro Cemetery.
