Calvin H. Mosher, age 92, of Pinnacle Towers, Wellsboro, PA, passed away peacefully May 15, 2017 at Broad Acres Nursing Home. Calvin was born April 21, 1925, the son of the late Clyde and Jennie Townsend Mosher. Calvin married Dorothy M. Makin on June 11, 1944. A graduate of Wellsboro High School Class of 1942, he was a retired tank operator for Corning Glass Works, Corning, NY. Calvin was a member of the Keeneyville United Methodist Church. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, and enjoyed camping, playing cards, and watching westerns and game shows.
He is survived by his loving wife of 72 years; 3 daughters and son-in-law: Patsy Melson of Ruther Glen, VA, Virginia Bair of Bainbridge, PA, Annette Mosher (Thom VanEs) of the Netherlands; 2 sons and daughters-in-law: Calvin “Pete” and Cindy Mosher of Wellsboro, and Timothy and Barb Mosher of Addison, NY; 21 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; brother-in-law Gene Makin and sister-in-law Carol Makin, both of Wellsboro; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Calvin was preceded in death by a daughter: Suzanne Mosher.
A Private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in the Middlebury Union Cemetery.
