Brenda S. Meyer, age 60, of Morris, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, February 15, 2019, with her husband of 17 years, Kevin L. Meyer, by her side. She was born in Lewisburg, PA on August 23, 1958, the daughter of the late Walter and Jessie (Haines) Smaltz.
Brenda obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Law from Penn State University and was employed for 23 years as a Psychiatric Aide at the Danville State Hospital. She was also very active in her community and place of employment, having served as the ASCME Union President of the Danville State Hospital and as a member of the planning commission for Pine Township. Some of Brenda’s hobbies included gardening, reading and staying active with exercise. She will be missed by family and friends for her compassion and kind-hearted nature.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Kevin L. Meyer, of Morris; step-sons, Mark Meyer, Thomas Meyer and Richard Meyer; sister-in-law, Pattie Krammes and her husband, Larry, of Pottsville; and many dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donation can be made in Brenda’s name to the Second Chance Animal Sanctuary, 725 Gee Rd, Tioga, PA 16946.
In keeping with Brenda’s wishes, no funeral services are to be held and a life celebration gathering will be held and announced at a later date.
