Robert “Bob” P. Williams, 86, of Wellsboro, PA, passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at the Green Home, in the presence of his loving family. He was born April 30, 1931, at the family home in Wellsboro on Woodlawn Avenue. Bob was the son of the late David and Winifred (Drew) Williams. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Louise (Bache) Williams.
In his youth, he worked at Williams Dairy, the family business. Bob was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Wellsboro. He was an Army Veteran, having served during the Korean Conflict. An avid sail boater, Bob enjoyed maintaining and even manufacturing sailboats; he took great pride in owning Rumery’s Boatyard of Maine for 5 years. Bob was described by is family as being a people person, he was very outgoing. He enjoyed working at his vocation, hobbies and maintaining the family farm. In addition, he was a ham radio enthusiast.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Louise, Bob is survived by his son, John Williams and his wife, Susan of Avon, CT; three nephews, Jim, Mike, and Phillip Bloise, all of Colorado; niece, Ann Bloise, of Dallas TX. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Elwin Williams and sister, Evelyn Williams.
Visitation will be on Thursday, February 22, 2018 from 1-2 PM at First Presbyterian Church of Wellsboro, 130 Main St., Wellsboro, PA. Memorial service to follow at 2:00 PM with Rev. Michael Birbeck officiating. Burial will be in Wellsboro Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
