Paul E. Carson, 81, of Wellsboro, passed away Saturday, February 10, 2018 in his home surrounded by family. Paul was born August 6, 1936 in Jersey Shore to the late Clyde A. and Clara (Patterson) Carson. On May 25, 1957, in Whitneyville, Paul married Jane Benson.
Paul was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Wellsboro. Paul genuinely enjoyed helping people and his church provided a meaningful conduit for such pursuits. He served as a Deacon, and with the First Baptist Movers, helping families with more than 100 relocations, Paul also served on two mission trips to the Dominican Republic. He was an avid hunter, and a John Deere Tractor enthusiast, he liked anything with a motor and could fix just about anything. But most of all he enjoyed his family, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Paul is survived by: his wife of 60 years Jane Carson of Wellsboro; 3 daughters: Christina Carson of Montoursville, Cathleen Heisey (Kurt) of Westfield, and Paula Parsons (Mark) of Wellsboro; 3 Grandsons: Tyler Parsons (Missy) of Wellsboro, Taylor Parsons (Molly Burney) of Mansfield, and Patrick Parsons (Bianca) of Wellsboro; 2 great-grandchildren: Hagen and Charlotte Parsons of Wellsboro; and 2 brothers: Neal Carson (Carol) of Waterville, PA and Earl Carson (Kathy) of Allenwood, PA. He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother: Robert Carson.
Friends and family are invited to the First Baptist Church of Wellsboro, 25 Central Avenue Wellsboro, PA 16901, from 11 am to 1 pm Wednesday February 14, 2018, to celebrate Paul’s life, and to his funeral service which will follow in the church. Burial will be in the Hills Creek Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the First Baptist Church of Wellsboro.
