Marion E. Dewey

Marion E. Dewey, 89, of Wellsboro, passed away May 16, 2017 in his home.  He was born July 18, 1927 in Covington Twp. to the late Merle and Edith Rogers Dewey.  On July 10, 1949 he married Eileen M. Smith, his wife of 67 years.  Marion worked as a millworker for the Patterson Lumber Company for 47 years.  The Whitneyville United Methodist Church was his church home, and he belonged to the Galeton Moose.  In addition to his family, Marion enjoyed camping, hunting and bowling.

Surviving are:  his wife Eileen; 2 daughters:  Carmen Toby (Butch) of Whitneyville and Roxanne Wilkinson (Rich) of Wellsboro; 2 grandchildren:  Kristen Hall-Geisler (Doug) of Portland, OR and Ryan Hall (Mariah) of Great Falls, MT; 2 great-grandchildren:  Daustin and Blaydin Hall of Great Falls, MT; a brother:  M. Roger Dewey of Hampton, VA; a sister-in-law:  Fran Dewey of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter:  Janine Dewey and a brother:  Gordon Dewey.

Friends and family are invited to Marion’s visitation on Monday May 22 from 12 noon to 2pm at the Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home, with a funeral service to follow at 2pm with pastor Sandi Hemker officiating.  Burial at the Whitneyville cemetery.  If desired donations may be made in Marion’s name to the Whitneyville United Methodist Church, Church Road, Mansfield, PA 16933.
