Margaret "Marge" Barnett

Margaret “Marge” Barnett (Bryant,Cruise), 88, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 8, 2019, surrounded by her loving children at Broad Acres Health and Rehabilitation Center in Wellsboro, PA.

Marge was born June 16, 1930 in Newtown, Bucks County and graduated from Council Rock High School.

In 1951, Marge married the love of her life, Thomas Barnett, Sr. of Penndel. Soon after they moved to River Lane in Levittown, where they lived for 49 years and raised six children. 

Marge worked for nearly two decades in the dry-cleaning industry in both operations and management at Greenwood Cleaners, Fairless Hills and Summit Cleaners, Yardley. 

Upon retirement she became an active volunteer at Middletown Senior Citizen’s Center in

Levittown. She was an avid Philadelphia sports fan and also loved bingo, as well as crocheting and doing needlepoint, creating gifts for her family to treasure.

In 2008, Marge and Tom fulfilled their lifelong dream and relocated to Morris, PA, where they had enjoyed nearly every family vacation over the years. They instilled in their children a love of the Tioga County wilderness, which the family affectionately calls “The Mountains”.

Marge was preceded in death by her loving husband Tom, parents Margaret and James Cruise, and sister Flora (Roy) Schmoock.

She is survived by her children Tom Jr. (Debbie) of Langhorne, Jim (Anne) of Wellsboro, Steve

(Michelle) of Levittown, Terri (Ron) Krystopolski of Wilmington, DE, Mike of Levittown, and

Susan (Greg) Persichetti of Newtown Square; 16 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and sisters Ann Schindewolf, Jane James and Lee Caldwell.

The Barnetts extend their sincere thanks to the staff at Broad Acres, who lovingly cared for both Marge and Tom.

Family and friends are invited to a funeral mass on Friday, January 25, 2019, 9:30 a.m., at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 38 Central Ave., Wellsboro, with Rev. David Bechtel presiding. A celebration of life will be held in Bucks County at a later date. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home, Ltd., Wellsboro.
