Louise Marie Statts, 82, a lifelong resident of Wellsboro, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 13, 2018, at the Green Home in Wellsboro. She was the wife of Raymond Donald Statts of Wellsboro and they shared 65 years of marriage together. She was born on May 31, 1936 in Blossburg, the daughter of the late Burr D. and Anna R. (Watkins) Haynes.
Louise was a member of the Valley Alliance Church of the CMA in Wellsboro. On top of being a great mother and homemaker for her family, she held jobs at a few local businesses including Dunham’s, Western Auto and Tops Market. In her younger years, she even helped haul cars for the Statts’ family junkyard. Through these employment opportunities, Louise quickly gained many friends and colleagues in the Wellsboro community. She was a very compassionate person that made friends easily. Some of her hobbies included baking, canning, crocheting and simply always being on the go. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her family and could often be found partaking in activities with her grandchildren, such as baking or picking blueberries.
Surviving in addition to her loving husband, Raymond, are her sons, Raymond D. Statts, Jr. of Darling Run and Douglas A. Statts of Wellsboro; daughters, Christine (Anthony) Maldona of Wellsboro, Rebecca (Roy) Dilly of Lawrenceville and Beverly (Steven) Moss of Wellsboro; eighteen grandchildren and several great grandchildren; one brother, Robert Bowers; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Louise was preceded in death by seven of her siblings.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Tuesday, October 16, 2018, from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home, Ltd., 139 Main Street, Wellsboro, PA 16901.
