Lana L. (Sykora) Bennett

Lana L. Bennett, 74, of Wellsboro, passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.  She was the wife of Robert C. Bennett, whom she was   married to over 50 years. 

Lana was born July 17, 1942 in Coudersport, PA, the daughter of the late Theodore John and Doris L. (Williams) Sykora.  During her life, Lana was employed at Osram Sylvania as a quality inspector.  She was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Wellsboro. Lana enjoyed being active in her church often volunteering and keeping track of her friends and family on Facebook. She loved her family and her grandchildren were the center of her world.

Surviving beside her husband Robert, are two sons, Wayne (Laura) Bennett, of Galeton and Randy (Kelley) Bennett of Sweden Valley; daughter, Shelly (Jeff) Cornell, of Wellsboro; seven grandchildren, Vanessa (Chad Davis)Cornell, Marissa Cornell, Shayna Cornell, Kelsey Bennett, Aaron Burkhardt, Melanie Stoudt, Ashley (Anthony) Autry; sister, Lucille (Don) Whitney; two brothers, David (Joyce) Sykora and Tim Sykora; sister-in-law, Wendy Sykora.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Teddy Sykora.

Friends and family are invited to Lana’s Life Celebration on Friday, February 17, 2017 from 6-8 PM at Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home, 139 Main St., Wellsboro.  Funeral mass will be Saturday, February 18, 2017 10:00 AM at St. Peter’s Catholic Church with Rev. David Bechtel officiating.  Burial in Wellsboro Cemetery.
