Jonathan Borden Greeley of Wellsboro passed away on Friday May 19, 2017 at the age of 30. Mr. Greeley was born August 19, 1986 in Wellsboro, the son of George and Lisa Borden Greeley. He was a graduate of Wellsboro High School and had been employed as a heavy equipment operator. An avid motorcyclist and lifelong Motocross enthusiast, he had been a member of the Canyon Riders Motorcycle Club, and competed in Motocross in the Western New York Circuit. Jonathan enjoyed the outdoors, he hiked, kayaked, and biked for recreation, and had become an accomplished snapping turtle hunter. Curious and quick-witted, he loved acquiring knowledge and was fascinated by history, which helped him develop his staunch libertarian political views. Recently he enjoyed developing his culinary skills.
Jonathan is survived by: his parents George Greeley and Lisa Greeley both of Wellsboro; his brother Devon Greeley; paternal grandparents Kay and Janet Greeley of Wellsboro; maternal grandparents George and Reita Borden of Wellsboro; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and his wonderful girlfriend Jennifer Fields of Wellsboro.
The services for Jonathan Greeley will be held Wednesday May 24 at the Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home 139 Main Street Wellsboro, PA 16901. Friends and family are invited to his visitation from 4-6pm at the funeral home with a memorial service immediately following. In lieu of flowers his family requests donations be made to the Jonathan Greeley Memorial Motocross Scholarship Foundation they will set up with the Wellsboro Branch of C&N Bank to help underprivileged youth attend Motocross camp.
