John Henry Stover, 70, of Emory Texas, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2017 at the home of his son Mark, of Wellsboro, PA. John was the husband of Miriam W. (Weaver) Stover whom he married on May 21, 1966. He was born September 21, 1946, in Annville, PA, the son of John H. and Naomi (Wert) Stover.
John was a graduate of Dohner Mennonite School and Lancaster Mennonite School. He was employed by Lone Star Sheds as a salesman. John attended Willow Springs Mennonite Church.
Surviving are his wife, Miriam; six sons, Timothy (Diane) Stover, Manheim, PA, Mark (Rhoda) Stover, Wellsboro, PA, David Stover, Texas, John Daniel (Laura) Stover, Sterling, AK, Joshua Stover, Indiana, Joseph Stover, Severence, CO; three daughters, Sara (Dwayne) Moyer, Telford, PA, Thelma (Mark) Doerksen, Emory TX, Miriam (Philip) Hoover, Shiloh, OH; forty-one grandchildren and one great-grand child. John was preceded in death by one daughter-in-law, Juanita Stover and one grandchild, Timothy Earl Stover.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2017 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM, at the Hegins Valley Mennonite Church, 180 E. Mountain Rd., Hegins, PA.; and Sunday, March 26, 2017 from 5-8 PM at Willow Springs Mennonite Church, 2699 Fm 3274, Emory, TX. Funeral service will be held Monday, March 27, 2017 11:30AM at the Willow Springs Mennonite Church. Burial will be Willow Springs Cemetery.
