Barry N. Franciscus, 83, of Middlebury Center, passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2018, at the Carleton Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in Wellsboro. He will be dearly missed by his fiancée and companion of nearly 20 years, Wilhelmine “Willy” Reardon, of Middlebury Center. He was born on May 28, 1935, in Carlisle, PA, the son of the late Hoke & Mary (Kitner) Franciscus.
Barry was employed as the President of the former Colonial Savings & Loan Association in Wrightsville, PA. He was a man of great faith and attended services at the First Presbyterian Church of Wellsboro. He was also an Eagle Scout, past Rotary Club member and a fishing guide in Alaska for a short time. Barry enjoyed travelling and being outdoors, especially when it came to hunting and fishing. His only greater love was for his family and fiancée, Willy.
In addition to his fiancée, Willy, Barry is survived by his son, Craig (Laura) Franciscus, of Airville, PA; daughters, Elizabeth “Liz” (Lonnie) Oerman, of Mount Wolf, PA and Victoria Franciscus, of East Prospect, PA; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Barry’s memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 6, 2018, 4:00 p.m., at the First Presbyterian Church of Wellsboro, 130 Main Street, Wellsboro, with Pastor Michael Birbeck officiating.
