Audrey (Ames) Fischler

March 5, 1933 ~ July 16, 2017 (age 84) 84 Years Old

Audrey "Pat" (Ames) Fischler, 84, of Wellsboro passed away into the loving arms of the Lord, at Country Terrace, on Sunday, July 16, 2017.  She was the wife of Jack F. Fischler, who preceded her in death on August 5, 1982.  Audrey was born March 5, 1933 in Keeneyville, PA, the daughter of the late Everett James and Marion (Gunn) Ames Perry.

Known to most as “Pat”, she loved her family dearly, each one was very special to her.

A person of faith, she was a member of the Coolidge Hollow Methodist Church for many years.   She had not only a deep devotion to God and her church, but also to her family and friends. Audrey volunteered with her friend Marge, to help the needy.  Little known was the fact that she wrote letters and corresponded with prisoners. She would take food to a lonely elderly neighbor who eventually softened to her kindness. Her faith was evidenced in all she did and accomplished in her life. Her favorite time for praying and giving thanks to God, was while she was walking.

Pat also enjoyed going to auctions and refinishing furniture.  She had her own antique shop for several years, “Pat’s Putter’n Place.” She was a homemaker at heart, a very giving and caring lady.

Surviving Audrey is her daughter and son-in-law, Tamara and David Keck, Medina, OH; grandchildren, Jennifer and Brian Wherley, Nicholas and Samantha Keck and Tiarna Fischler; great grandchildren, Sophia, Everett, David, Sadie Wherley and Leah Keck; nephew, Robert “Ed” English (Joyce) and his children, Sean, Ashley and Erin, who had a special place in her heart; forever friend, Janie Metarko and her son, Greg. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by step-father, Julian Perry; her son, Timothy Fischler and her sister, Joyce (Mitzi) English.

In keeping with her wishes; a graveside service will be held, Friday, July 21, 2017 11:00 am at Shumway Hill Cemetery with Pastor Julie Rosensteel officiating
