Arnold N. Avery, 76, of Mansfield, passed away on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at the Green Home in Wellsboro. He was the husband of the late Alberta (Scouten) Avery, they shared 45 years of marriage together prior to her passing in 2013. He was born July 28, 1942 in Wellsboro, the son of the late Norman and Hilda (Torpy) Avery.
Arnold was a lifelong dairy farmer who continued to run his family’s century farm until his retirement, the Avery Homestead in Mansfield. He was a member of the Whitneyville United Methodist Church, an honorary member of the Grand Canyon Future Farmers of America and took great pride in being involved with the Tioga County Fair for many years. Most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, whether it was F.F.A adventures with the grandkids, coffee with “the boys” or hosting the hunting crew during deer season.
Left to cherish his memory are his son and daughter-in-law, Joseph N. and Dawn Avery of Wellsboro; daughter, Cora Bolt; five grandchildren, Jessica, Derrick, Russel, Curtis and Michael; sister, Diane Orcutt of Oklahoma; several nieces and nephews; many dear friends.
In addition to his wife, Alberta, Arnold was preceded in death by his son, Edward Avery, and his brother, Ralph Avery.
